Q:      Why is Dermagenics different from other skin care systems?

 Q:      What is your approach to exfoliating the skin?

A:      We suggest that you be very careful in your selection of exfoliants because many contain harsh chemicals that can irritate and scratch your skin. We plan to add a safe and effective exfoliant to our anti-aging line in the near future.

A:       Dermagenics is considered a natural anti-aging cream that contains no harmful or irritating chemicals, so it is gentle enough for the delicate tissues around the eyes. Q:      Is it true that Dermagenics Anti-Wrinkle Beauty Moisturizer is for day and night use, for all skin types and for women and men alike?

A:      Yes. Dermagenics works for people of all ages and skin types because it does not mask problems with chemicals but instead restores the natural balance of the skin. The entire family can benefit from using the same cream. Men as well as women use Dermagenics because it contains no perfume or dyes and will not burn the skin after shaving. Light yet luxurious, its consistency is ideal for day and night use. Two coats of Dermagenics are recommended for night use for those who desire a thicker night cream. 

Q:      What potentially harmful ingredients does Dermagenics leave out?

A:      We follow the Hippocratic Oath, “First, do no harm.” Dermagenics contains absolutely NO harmful ingredients—no alpha hydroxys or glycolic acids, fillers, artificial colors, fragrances, drying soaps or alcohols. In researching the marketplace, we found that it was virtually impossible to find a product that did not contain at least one of these cheap additives, which almost entirely counteract any potential benefits of the product. Dermagenics’ formulators have scrupulously avoided the use of any harmful chemicals.  

Q:      Why does Dermagenics Ultra-Intensive Anti-Wrinkle Moisturizer contain no alpha hydroxys or glycolic acids?  I have heard over the years that these are good for your skin.

A:      Skin care companies have been touting the anti-aging benefits of alpha hydroxys and glycolic acids in exfoliating the skin and helping to remove wrinkles. Contrary to popular belief, physicians have noted many adverse reactions, and there are still unanswered questions regarding the safety of these chemicals. Due to their relative newness, their long-term effects are unknown. 

Q:      What is the FDA’s position on alpha hydroxys and glycolic acids?

A:          According to the Federal Drug Administration (FDA), “Effects of Alpha Hydroxy Acid on the Skin concluded that additional scientific investigation was needed to establish the safety of these products.” Furthermore, according to the FDA, “An industry-sponsored study found people who use AHA products have greater sensitivity to sun, raising the specter of greater risk of photo aging and skin cancer.” John Bailey, acting director of the FDA’s Office of Cosmetics and Colors, states: “. . . it’s a somewhat alarming idea to put acids on the skin. It raises obvious safety questions.”  

In light of so many complaints to physicians and the FDA, Dermagenics has gone against the trend of including alpha hydroxys and glycolic acids in its products. This ensures that Dermagenics users do not have to take the unnecessary risk of ruining their skin or even their health in their quest for anti-aging skin care products. 

Q:      What kinds of results can I expect?

Q:      Is there a sunscreen in Dermagenics Moisturizer?

A:      No, there intentionally is no sunscreen in Dermagenics Moisturizer because we believe that to be highly effective, a sunscreen must be pure and of high quality--not mixed in with other creams that could dilute its effect. In the same way, we have maintained the purity of our formula, which is dedicated to a specific purpose. In addition, we would not want people to assume that a moisturizer containing sunscreen is sufficient protection against the sun. Staying out of the sun as much as possible is the best way to avoid the damage caused by harmful ultraviolet rays. 

Q:      Is Dermagenics for problem skin?

Although Dermagenics is not formulated for problem skin, it will not hurt the skin. It is not designed as a medicine or as a treatment for problem skin. If you have acne, rosacea, discoloration or any other skin issue, we recommend that you seek the advice of a dermatologist.
